The phenomenon of blue fire from the Ijen crater is a rare phenomenon that comes from high pressure sulfur gas that blows from between the rock with temperatures reaching 600 degrees celsius. To reach the top of Mount Ijen, tourist must walk 3 km for 2 to 3 hours at night to see the blue flames. Mount Ijen is a volcano located on the border of Banyuwangi regency and Bondowoso regency, east Java,Indonesia and has an altitude of 2386 meters above sea level which erupted in 1999. Apart from being a natural tourism park, Ijen crater is also a place of livelihood for traditional sulfur miners.
